WINTER WORT
(HIEMS HERBA)
Folk Names:
Blue Lace Bell, Winter Wine, Blue Wort, Winter Bells.
20cm x 30cm
********************************************************
Winter Wort is a great garden favourite because of its beautiful colours in winter and its gorgeous smell. Commonly blue, it shines bright on a dark winter day and stands out well in the snow. It is wonderfully scented with the smell of mulled wine. A friendly flower but very quiet. It likes its own company as not many others are around in the flower bed in winter. Plant it in groups for company. It is quite a large flower and makes a striking winter display in a tub. Dolly Town snails eat its pollen during the winter months and Winter Wort is happy to allow this. Plant in summer for Autumn into Winter flowers. Plant it in the middle of the flower bed. Grows in sun and semi shade and is a good all round flower for the garden.
Magical Uses:
Petals make great dye for fabric and wool. Striking blue colour.
